Electronic Drum Triggers
I have done some investigating, and the internet suggests the best way to make DIY drum triggers is with Piezo Disks. I would probably have to run these through an Arduino chip to make it all work, which would take a lot of learning.
The other, easier alternative is to buy a cheap childrens drum toy and pull it apart. I will be investigating this avenue at the warehouse today.
